As I'm unfortunately not rich enough for a closet full of Louboutin's, these new heels from Tony Bianco might ease the pain (a little)... Currently only available by pre-order, the Aero is my kind of shoe! High, classic, simple, hot! I love the thin gold metal ankle strap. Not sure how comfortable it'd be, but since when have I cared about comfort?! Pfft.

What can I say? I know, I know. What was I thinking. Me in flats?! Pfft!!!

Don't worry, I took them back and swapped them for some Katie Holmes inspired 'aged' ankle boots. Comfy and practical. With jeans, not, a la Ms Holmes with everything (whether they go or not, in her case 99% of the time not).

My excuse, for a temporary lapse in judgement? Well, I have a similar pair of heeled (blush bow peeptoe) shoes which are lovely. So I thought, for winter, when heels aren't the thing, a flat version may be okay. 

But when I got home? No, no, no, no, no! Awful. Granny shoes! Made my legs feel weird, and look like a hoofed Rumpelstiltskin!

Don't call Mr S's work mobile three times in a row without leaving a message, to imply the call is 'urgent' which makes him rush out of an important meeting, thinking something is wrong, when the question is whether or not I should buy a pair of shoes that I really, really want (but don't need).

Now here's the problem. I walked away from the shoes and now I'm sulking. I can feel the claws of obsession starting to dig in... Oh bullocks I should have just bought them! Maybe I should call and put them on hold and go back and get them tomorrow.  Oh why the hell did I go to Tony Bianco in first place!  This always happens!  When will I learn? Never.

I saved money today. What a clever madam I am!  Yes I saved myself $154.95.  Okay, okay, I didn't exactly need my purchases, but, well, the kids went back to school today, so that means I get new shoes right?  And a new dress?  It's only fair. And they were on sale. So how could I not?

I've been busy this week. Hardly any time to post. I'm going to be busy all week.  A busy little bee, that's me...

I decided on my new Cooper Street tea dress again today.  I apologise if my outfit choice is boring you dear reader... But I like this dress, so there.  And I wanted to try it out with my gorgeous new Tony B's.

It's a bit sad how much I love these flipping shoes! I almost don't want to wear them, because I don't want to mark them. But I had a lunch date, so made myself wear them out. They certainly turn heads. It's good to know there are people out there who appreciate a pair of sexy heels. I like how they are pretty plain at the front.  Just two thin leather straps. Classy. Then, as you see the side profile, you see the high, high heel and that glint of gold metal.  Yes indeed, for now these are my favs. Dear Mr S's too.  What can I say?  He has good taste!

I love this funky cowl neck Mix dress (from Coles). It only cost $12! What a bargain. It's my first time wearing it out today.  As it's still a bit chilly I've added a cardie, belt and glass beads - a teal overload!

I couldn't decide on which shoes to wear though... In the end I went with my Tony Bianco snakeskin stilettos.  The platform put me off a bit at first.  The whole stripper shoe vibe. But they match my outfit, so I went with colour.  I do like the nude option too though.

I bought this Basque dress from Myer yesterday. I like the vibrant colour block contrast and the classic, nipped in at the waist design. But. Now I'm not so sure. Ever since Mr S said I looked like an flight attendant! I guess it does look a little like a uniform... So now I'm undecided.  I hate it when that happens...

I'm in love with my new heels.  They are very high and are definitely not for walking far, more just sitting around with legs and heels on display.  I can't wait to wear them out. I keep putting them on and just wearing them round the bedroom...

I thought I'd brighten up the dull drizzly morning by wearing some bright stripes! This is my new Review dress. Not normally my style, way too busy with the stripes all over the place, but what the hell - change is good right? Besides it feels really nice and floaty on, as it's satin lined and made from a delicate crepe fabric. 

I've toned everything down a bit by wearing my faithful Tony Bianco nude heels, and a black cardie, as it's chilly out there!

I must say (so I will), I really like the new Spring Season trends. There is so much to choose from. Pretty much anything goes, so long as it's pastel, patterned, bright and colourful! Classic 50s style silhouettes are key, as are simple A-line shifts, and the must-have peplum waist is still popular - hooray!

I have put together a few items that I would really like to get my hands on! I absolutely love the hot pink Zara heels - that thin straight stiletto is fantastic!

I really like this dress. I found it on the clearance rack at Target last week, down from $79 to $34 to $15!  It's fully lined and nicely cut.  What a bloody bargain!  Worn with a thin snakeskin belt, I think it looks pretty smart. And I love the spotty print, it reminds me of the starry sky at night, when sitting on a deserted beach... My Tony Bianco buttermilk platform peeptoes go well with the belt, so I'm sorted!

stiletto lust... why I adore heels

I had a request from 'Dave The Shoe Guy' yesterday (from a picture I posted on Instagram), asking me (and anyone else who wants to add something) to explain why I love shoes, and it has made me ponder on the question. Why do I love heels?

I just always have. From that first pair of heels, aged six. They had little kitten heels, they were red patent and had a dainty ankle strap. The clipped and clopped when I walked down the street, just like my big sister's. I adored those little shoes.

The truth is, nothing makes my heart skip a beat more than that moment when I spot a gorgeous pair of heels. The adrenalin starts to pump, my pulse quickens, I get slightly panicky (in case they don't have my size) and I become obsessed.

Everyone has something they lust after. An irrational need. Diamonds, handbags, automatic watches, cars, cooking utensils (??!!) ... Things they are happy to pay ridiculous amounts of money on, just because they love them. For me it's heels. Only heels (okay, and holidays).

What is it in particular about the shoe? It's the heel. The way a thin, straight stiletto stands so sexy and proud, shouting for attention. Everyone knows a beautiful pair of shoes absolutely makes an outfit. It's the way they extend the leg, flatter the curve of your calf, and the sexy arch of your foot... just gets me. It's a beautiful thing. Let's face it, every thing is better when wearing heels! They make you feel confident and sexy. People notice. I notice.

I have very particular tastes though. Not any pair of heels will do! I don't like strange shaped, chunky heels, I detest S&M heel-less shoes, I'm not really into straps (unless it's a simple, thin ankle strap) and they can't be too fussy. The heel has to be high and thin, and if there is a platform, it needs to be discrete, so the shoe doesn't look like a stripper shoe.

I like my heels to be classic, timeless, simple, elegant and sexy. And then I'll love them, and I'll want to gaze at them and feel the curves and, well, let's just say, I understand why people have shoes fetishes...

I do love this dress.  If you have been paying attention, you'll know I also have it in grey.  The black one is my favourite though,  I change the belt for a different look.  I wore a red one last time. 

Today I'm just keeping it plain and simple.  With my absolutely perfect black patent stilettos.  My heart actually skips a beat when I see these heels.  They are so straight and high and pointy and super sexy.  They are totally perfect, and if I could, I would have this very shoe in every colour of the rainbow...

Get your mind out of the gutter! This post is not about nudie bits. 

I'm talking about nude heels! Every girl should have at least one pair! Why? Do you really need to ask? They are so flippin wearable. With everything! Jeans, trousers, dresses, shorts. Long, short or mid length. Colour blocks, patterns, florals, pastels or black. Nude always works. I adore nude heels, and am still pinning for the nude suede peeptoes I missed out on at Tony Bianco (didn't have my size) last week. I only have patent nudes and I wear them constantly. I love them. Can't you tell!

So if you don't own a pair. Do your wardrobe a big favour. Buy some.

My lovely niece gets married in December. It's all very exciting.

Especially the pre-wedding what to wear, excuse to go shopping.

I love trying on pretty dresses, and have to use such will power not to buy them all! But yesterday, I think, I found my dress...

It's from Review and it's the perfect Aunty-of-the-Bride dress. Classic fitted shape (for that hour glass silhouette), knee skimming length, a dusky pale pink (so not to stand out too much) with a little sparkle, applique and a few sequins to jazz it up a bit...

And I already have the perfect matching heels...

It was cold this morning, down to 8!  Brr.  Now the sun is out, the temperature has hit 20 and it's another beautiful autumn Queensland day. 

But because of the morning chill, I chose a longer black raw-silk shift dress for today, and a long black cardie.  Jazzed up with a black patent bow belt, and my gorgeous Tony Bianco bow stilettos (which I'm still slipping out of when I walk. Humph). Oh and I'm wearing my pearls of course!

I've always been a fan of 50's style dresses. They are so flattering and feminine. So when I saw this 50's inspired, pink-print dress last year I had to get it.  In fact I ended up buying the dress in all three available colours - a black/grey pin stripe, black and white gingham and this, my favourite, pink one.  It's made from parachute fabric, so it feels so light and flouncy and is a dream to wear.

My heels are Tony Bianco (again!) nude, court shoes, that are deceivingly high, but go with everything. And my beloved pearls.
