a treat before departing

Just before I log off. I wanted to share a quick lovely pair!  Enjoy. Don't miss me too much.
I'll be back soon. x

the big day approaches

Well dear readers, the wedding (of my niece) approaches. So I am taking a very short break to enjoy all the build up and fun and excitement. The dress ups, drinking, dancing, loving, eating, chatting, meeting new people and picture taking... Tune in next week for a sum up of the wedding of the year (and what I wore of course)!

Decisions, decisions...

got shoe envy?

I'm really loving metallics right now. Just the thing for this years Christmas and New Year party season.  As you know, I recently purchased my gorgeous silver glitter Diavolina stilettos, but I have been hankering over a gold pair ever since...

So when I received my new sparkly gold 'Goldrush' heels from Shoe Envy this morning it made my day! God, I love new shoes!  Always so exciting! I have worn them round the house ever since and can't wait for the perfect excuse to wear them out!

The pale gold fabric is just the right shade. Not too gold, almost nude-gold, so they will go with everything (well almost). They are really comfortable to wear (no squashed toes!) and they don't feel as high as they look due to the platform, and they are a real size 38, so fit perfectly.  Yay, happy, happy me! Jealous ladies...? Then buy your own!

For some delightfully different heels, check out Shoe Envy or the Shoe Envy Facebook page here. Happy shopping and enjoy turning heads my friends!

BTW - a really cool thing about this brand is Shoe Envy donate a portion of every sale to charities working to help animals. The shoes are 100% vegan, meaning they made without using anything derived from a living animal, including the glue!
Love these Neon Bights too! Buy all three for only $137!
Perfect for wearing with skinny jeans or short shorts (if you have the legs!)

today I am wearing...

It's a beautiful Summers day!  I worked on my tan a little over the weekend (yay!), honestly is there anything more enjoyable than laying in the sun, smelling of coconut, by a sparkling blue pool, reading a good book, sipping on a chilled drink?  Ahhhh...  Well I love it.  I need it.  It's therapy for the soul for me...

So today I felt like wearing white.  A white summery broderie anglaise Marks & Spencer dress (which I have had for years), a yellow JayJays belt and my orange and yellow glass beads (I went through a phase on making them...).  I haven't been out yet, so I am currently barefoot...

Have a marvellous week everyone!

dress temple

On Friday night a couple of glam girlfriends and I dolled ourselves up and headed to Oxford Street, Bulimba to the launch of Dress Temple's new bag, accessory and 'private label' dress range. An evening of fashion, fun, shopping and champagne! Just my kind of thing. Browsing through beautiful things for an hour or two.

Now I'm not normally a bag girl, but I loved the bags!  In particular the bright coloured, studded leather clutches. Totally gorgeous and I am v tempted to get one (the blue, or maybe the orange, see below). The sparkly cuffs and bracelets caught my eye too.  But I was very good and only bought one (piccie to follow soon).  I'm on a budget remember...!

The resort style dresses in greens, mauves and statement prints are perfect for wafting around in and look very cool with an eye catching necklace.

Check out designer Megan Patterson's online store here or checkout the facebook page. I really admire people who have the balls to start up their own business.  I'm too bloody lazy. I have all the ideas and grand plans one minute, then put myself off the next, thinking, 'It's all too hard, I'll just read a magazine instead'...

Today I am wearing....

It's a perfect sun bathing day, but I don't think I'll get the chance unfortunately!  I have things to do and places to go. So a light, summer dress is all that's required.

This little cotton sun dress is so comfy to just pull on. I bought it from a local boutique called Orange Sherbet, last year. I like the quirky clouds and sailing boat print, and I can go bra less (yay!).  The blue also matches my blue glass beads.  As I'm running around, sensible wedges complete the look.

Happy Friday peeps! It's almost the weekend...

today I am wearing...

I have a lunch appointment today, so I thought I'd better smarten myself up a bit!  This lovely hot, balmy weather is making me want to walk around in next to nothing, which is fine for slobbing around the house, but not fine for meets with suppliers.  So, this little number is one of the dresses I snapped up last week in the Myer 30% off sale.  It's from Tokito and I really like the cut and detail of this dress; the puffy sleeves, big pockets, stitching round the neck and the purple backed sash belt.  Nice touches to a LBD. And my Steve Madden plum stilettos are the prefect match.

All set for a free lunch in a nice restaurant by the sea. Yay! I won't need cook dinner tonight.  The family can fend for themselves!

Naomi in Tom

I actually really like this wing sleeved, backless dress by Tom Ford.  I think Naomi looks (like Helen Mirren!) really cool.  I like the messy up-do, and the double ankle strap stilettos. I bet the dress feels fabulous on.

coloured belts

I love belts. I love how easy it is to change the outfit simply by changing your belt (and shoes!), to dress up or down depending on the occasion.

Yellow with heels. Pink with wedges. Red with thongs.

it's lovely lara again...

As you know, I love Lara Stone.  Not facially, but her body.  More specifically, her tits.  I love them.  I want them.  I wish they were mine.

Here she puts them on spectacular display for ID Magazine's Wise Up Issue 322, shot by Daniele Duella + Iango Henzi. I love these pics - all except the shoes.  The shoes are not good.  The are flat and large and ugly.  Lara should be in killer spikes!

The lovely Ms Stone

Nice tits, shame about the shoes!  Heels please!!!

Opps! Forgot your panties.

today I am wearing...

I love this warmer weather.  I love not having to wear very much.  You can just throw on a simple cotton dress and you are ready to go!  Even better when no bra is required. Like today. Hooray!

I've had this green and white floral print dress for so long I have no idea where I bought it from.  But I wear it a lot when it's hot and humid.  Today, I've added my favourite Target wedges. Simple.

top tip: for party consultants

If you are trying to sell dildos, wanking sleeves, tingle lube, clit stimulator's and love eggs, please put a little effort in to what you look like/are wearing!

The frumpy suburban housewife look (jeans pulled up too high, 'comfy' shoes, mousy perm) just doesn't cut it!

I wanna think hot Playmate not Readers Wives! Especially when you are describing where your g-spot is...

So no dear readers. I did not buy any self pleasuring devices, or couples toys the other night. I do however look forward to trying my 'guess the dildos name' prize!

Congratulations to Lara Stone and David Walliams on their pregnancy news! Another hot mama in the making.

I love this flashback pic to 2007, Ms Stone wearing red stilettos for W. Very cool. Nice shoes...

today I am wearing...

Today has been so beautiful and warm. Shame I couldn't have spent it lounging by the pool, instead of working. Never mind. It's the nearly the weekend - yay! My silky Portmans strappy sun dress and favourite glass beads has been the perfect choice for today. Light, cool and fine with heels (for work), then thongs for coffee catch ups and school runs.

Off to a dildo party tonight, so that'll be a laugh.

Have a good one peeps!

the big day...

Two weeks tomorrow and my beautiful niece will become a Mrs. I can’t wait for the wedding. Firstly because I haven’t been to a family wedding in years, decades! And secondly, to get it over with. I don’t mean that in a negative way, just it will be nice to move forward. It seems like this whole year has been leading to the wedding, to this one day. Everything has become about ‘the wedding’. So now the countdown is really on and I’m excited for the happy couple and our family and it will be a wonderful day. Actually few days, because it’s not just the wedding day, there’s the meet and greet drinks and some other thing planned.

The build up has made me reflect on my own wedding, almost 15 years ago. The total opposite of the wedding we are about to attend. Truly one of the best days of my life. Why? I’ll tell you. It was spontaneous, it was intimate, it was personal, it was about just the two of us. It was not about the dress, the cake, the menu, the bridesmaids, the guests, the hens nights and stag nights and colours and decorations. It was me and him. That’s it. We didn’t get engaged. Mr S proposed and we planned our wedding straight away. We didn’t invite anyone (although our parents did end up coming along), we didn’t want a big wedding and party. We just wanted to get married, underwater. So I contacted a couple of dive companies in the British Virgin Islands (where I had leant to dive many years before) and researched marriage licenses overseas, booked our flights, brought new swimmers and off we went. To be honest, we really didn’t know if any of our very loose plans would come together, and we were fully prepared to return home unmarried (remember ‘package dive weddings’ didn’t exist back then). But you know what, it all came together perfectly. All the locals thought we were mad! We bought our marriage license with stamps, had it witnessed by security guards, hired a small boat to take us to an island, we drank cheap champagne in plastic cups and had our marriage vows written on fish and heart shaped slates (by marker pen) with a pencil attached so we could tick, the ‘I DO’ box. We wore ‘borrowed’ dive shop wetsuits and my bouquet was eaten by fish. At night we drank rum punch at Bomba Shak (a beach bar made from materials washed up on the beach), signed our names on the ‘wall’ and listened to a Calypso band until it was time to walk back to our hotel, barefoot along the sand.  I would not change a single second. It still makes me smile. I’d do it all again. And all it cost us, was just a little more than our normal two weeks in the sun.

It sickens me the amount of money spend on ‘traditional’ weddings. Thousands, tens of thousands spent on one day. One day! I know that many people dream of their wedding day and each to their own, absolutely. But. Personally I could never have enjoyed a big white wedding. All the expectation and expense and needing it to be perfect, and who is it really for? How many people can honestly say their wedding was perfect, that they really wouldn’t change a thing? I wonder... I hope my niece’s day is wonderful and she will have treasured memories like I do of mine.  One thing is for sure.  She will look beautiful.

Wakey wakey!

I'm struggling this morning. I feel like I'm moving slowly through a dark, narrow tunnel towards the light. So I need coffee and quiet. It's a beautiful day, so I need to wake up. Come on, chop chop!

I had one of those horrible, vivid dreams last night. I woke up with a start, heart pounding in my chest, a cold shiver. I dreamt a group of teenagers were trying to get into the house. They were running around outside and I was trying to find my phone to call the police. I felt panic and fear, and then one of the 'gang' a dark haired stocky bloke grabbed me. I tried to scream, scream for the kids to stay upstairs, scream for Mr S to phone the police, but as always in dreams, I could only manage a pathetic, croaky whisper. I was in the kitchen and I just reached out, grabbed a knife and stuck it into the blokes throat. The thing I remember most is the feeling of inserting the blade, just beside the jaw bone, and not pressing too deep. Repulsed at the ease of it and the release of dark blood. I just wanted the gang gone. I didn't want to really hurt him. I just held the knife in and tried to walk him to the door, to push him out. That's when I woke up. Ugh.

today I am wearing...

A new dress for a Wednesday!

I found this cute dress yesterday at Myer, upstairs in Tokito. I can just about get away with wearing some of their dresses, they are usually a tad too short for me now I'm over their target age range. However, this dress is just the thing! I love the blue and black 'Mini Mouse' collared, belted, fit and flare style - and it has pockets - hurrah! I got it on the sale rail (where else?!) marked down from $79.95 to $38. SOLD!

today I am wearing (and me time)...

I had a 'me' day today. I needed it. Sometimes it's good to have a breather isn't it. My mind and body was craving sun rays. Desperately. I can't tell you have much better I feel, after an hour or so topping up on vitamin D! I actually get a little agitated when I haven't sunbathed for a while. It's been weeks and my skin is starting to turn pasty. Ugh. So after a browse round the shops (yes, yes, I did buy a dress, two in fact), an hour of mummy duty, cheering on my two darlings at their school swimming carnival (boring, very noisy, immersed in the stench of clammy skin, rubber and chlorine), I returned home to do an hours exercise (I almost died on the treadmill!) then I donned my bikini and just wafted into the pool. Ahhh. Total bliss! Cool weightlessness and relaxation. The clear blue ripples of the water against the vivid blue sky. Then lazing in the warm sun with just a whisper of a breeze caressing my skin. Paradise in my back garden!

After a shower I slipped this Mix dress on with my Tony Bianco 'Alamo' heels, (which I later swapped for thongs) and teal beads.

today I am wearing...

While on the subject of cheap wearable clothing, I found this dress in Target marked down to $12! Too good a bargain to resist.  It's light and comfortable and has the prerequisite (tie) belt. Maybe it's a tad frumpy, but I figure it's fine for an everyday work/about the house dress, and I like the monochrome print.

Yesterday, while doing my most hated chore of the week, food shopping, I checked out the latest Mix clothing range (at Coles) and was really impressed by their great summer essentials - all for $29 or less! boobs of the month award...

This isn't actually a Boobs of the Month Award post.  It's just an excuse to look at some mighty fine form. The female body is so beautiful. This lovely lady has such a perfect body. Fit and healthy. Just lovely.

Happy Friday chaps!

today I am wearing...

It's hot today, and once again very windy (so no boating again this weekend, errrr!). So a little soft cotton sundress is all that's required. This one, I found in Jay Jays, hidden in the $10 sale heap last week.  It has a zip up back and pockets.  I love pockets, not sure why really because it's not like I use them much. I added a long silver necklace today, but soon it will be time to dig out my favourite glass bead necklaces, which I wear constantly in summer.

I have chores to do today, and some exercise (ugh), but I am desperate for a spell in the sun, so I'm aiming to squeeze in an hour of sun worship - my body so badly needs some rays, I hate being pasty!

racing fashion... the hits and misses

Finally Jen Hawkins has something on that I like!!! I have not been impressed by her outfit choices at all so far. The Melbourne Racing Season is in full swing and I am SO disappointed by the outfits.  Most of them are bloody awful!  Oh I just don't have time to go through them all!  Here are just a few the hits and misses...

Rose Bryne - classic and lovely

Oh Jen - NO!!!  It's just wrong!
Nice peeptoes though.
Delta - once again WTF??!!
White leggings and those flats!!!
Kate Waterhouse - God where do I start!!??
