ALMAS

Love these two looks from the ALMA Awards in LA. Especially Jessica Alba's sequin skirt and shirt combo. Nice.

Emmy red carpet misses

And now for my not so favourite looks. They are not ghastly, just not my cup of tea... Sorry ladies.

Zosia Mamet. The black 'bra' shape ruins this otherwise
ok dress! I just don't like the top section at all.

Lena Headey. WTF are those shoes? Not right at all. And
the dress reminds me of a lacy bodystocking from the 80s.

Amanda Peet. What a mess! The crap hair, ugly sandals
and too much going on and not working at all dress!

Julianne Hough.  I would love this dress if I couldn't
see your granny pants! All I can look at is your gusset.

Emmy red carpet winners

So we're almost at the end of the 2013 Emmy Awards. Have you been watching live? I have, on and off. I can't help myself. But I'm annoyed and have to admit I shouted at the screen when Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston missed out on their awards. They were ROBBED!  I am a HUGE Breaking Bad fan. There is no, and will never be, a better show! They deserved to bloody win! GRRRR...

Anyway back to the point. Fashion. Dresses. Beautiful people. Lots of likes this year. No real shockers. I'm impressed. No amazing or awful stand outs, just lots of pretty outfits.

In no particular order, here are my favs.

Claire Danes in Armani. Needs a bit pendant, but nice.

Julie Bowen. Love it. Perfect for the Emmys.

Kerry Washington in Marchesa. Wedding dressy but pretty.

January Jones. Very nude and plain, but nice.

Rose Byrne. Rose is always gorgeous. Flawless.

Malin Akerman. A bit wedding dressy but I like it.

Sarah Paulson. Classy.

Kiernan Shipka. Young and pretty and wearing perfect shoes.

Alison Williams. Plain and simple but love the colour.

Alyson Hannigan.  Love her in purple.

today I am wearing...

A maxi. I felt like wearing something long and floaty today, after all the lovely fashion week dresses and cause the sun's out and it's warm and summery. (BTW - can I just say I'm really not keen on the term 'maxi' dress. Am I the only one who thinks of 'maxi pad'?! You know the post birth nappy pads that feel like you have a loaf of bread between your legs...??)

I picked up this blue sun dress in Target yesterday. Off the clearance rack (of course!) for only $10 down from $49! It's perfect for the hot, humid summer season, I'll wear it a lot, especially when lounging at home. It's super cool (as in temperature) and comfy. I quite like the colour too. I don't normally wear bright blue.

Crepe cotton sun dress from Target. Was $49. Mine for $10.

cicciolina

I remember Cicciolina, the Hungarian-born Italian porn star turned politician (fronting the Party of Love). She made the news in the late 80s/early 90s for going into parliament with one boob on display, wearing pink and white lacy underwear as outerwear and riding around on a white horse. But it was in Amsterdam (with my boyfriend at the time), that I really got to see her in action (ahem). She 'acted' a particularly memorable scene with a red lolly pop... I was there, of course, to indulge in the city's highlights, including the hotel porn channel, seedy red light district with its live and video booth shows, smoky bars and beautiful cafes. What can I say? I was young and up for anything (well almost).

Anyway, dear Miranda has donned a blonde wig and channelled her inner Ciccolina for V Magazine #85. Miranda is much prettier than the real deal and has a better set of baps (just saying!) but I'm not keen on her as a blond.

This is how I collect my dozen freshly laid eggs in the morning too!

The real Ciccolina. Funny, Tony Bianco have fringed
heels like that on sale at the moment. Don't like them.

an english garden party

This video is worth a watch, if you haven't seen it already. Rich happy people congratulating each other... Jealous? Who me?! Never!

Oh to be Gwyneth! Or Stella, or Kate H. What marvellous lives they lead! I have to admit I have watched this video several times, perving on the famous friends and wishing I was part of that 'born-with-a-golden-spoon-in-your-mouth' inner circle. They are so happy and privileged... celebrating the new, exclusive, limited edition Stella GOOP range...

The GOOP newsletter says, Our first collaboration with Stella McCartney is the result of a longtime friendship between Gwyneth and Stella. A collaboration between their brands is a natural fit. As Stella says, "In order to create pieces that are effortless, it’s very considered. Gwyneth was a huge part of that. This is a big reflection of her life."

I really liked the jumpsuit, until I saw the $1,200 price tag!!! Okay. It's that exclusive. I thought it might have been like a Target GOOP Stella range, your know priced for average suburbanites. Maybe not then. Who the fk do you know who can afford a $1200 jumpsuit that you wear to do housework in?  Looks like I'll be getting the similar one in Cotton On for $30...

AU$,1200

SOLD OUT AU$1,250

LFW bold print dresses galore

So far I have to say I'm preferring the fashion out of London (Fashion Week, Spring 14 Collections).  It's far more wearable and not so run-of-the-mill.  But I guess you expect London to be more quirky. So far, these are my picks for lovely spring/summer colourful frocks.

victoria by VB

I really like this sequin crepe Victoria by Victoria Beckham dress. It's $1,880 from Net a Porter if you want to buy one. I'll have to wait for the high street copy, but for those of you with lots of dosh - go for it!

LV spring sandals

Love these new season Louis Vuitton 'Dramatic Hand Waxed Python' sandals, as seen on Jennifer Anniston's red carpet feet a lot recently. A bargain at only AU$2,050 (ahem)!

Can't believe they cost more (almost a grand more!) than my beloved Christian Louboutin Pigalle's though. They're nice, but not that nice.

more for the shopping list

NYFW. So many lovely dresses and outfits! I'm wasting far too much time wishing my darling Mr S would turn into a Russian billionaire so I could actually afford a new Spring wardrobe from these designer collections, perched in the front row, making a list, rather than daydreaming in front of my computer. I would definitely be buying these...

naeem khan's pretty frocks

Really love these looks from Naeem Khan. I wish I could slink around in long fancy dresses all day!

not so rosy

Cheryl Cole! Why did you do this to yourself?! Just why? I just DON'T GET IT!!! Why cover up your peachy, perfect bottom with a hideous tattoo that looks like you have serious burns?!! I'm sorry, but if I was taking you from behind, I'd be too distracted with the question 'WTF?' and it would put me off my game! Ugh! I HATE it! Your once sexy, young, flawless back and arse are now ruined.

Sorry, but that's my opinion. I know it's your body and no doubt you'll have some 'story/meaning' (bollocks!) for getting this 'body art' (pfft!) but I just do not, and will never get it. Horrible.

Ms Cole's rosy cheeks!

Cheryl! Why love, why???
