today I am wearing...

It is such a beautiful morning! But goodness me it is so cold. I know I sound like a broken record, but it still confuses me, seeing such a deep blue cloudless sky and bright sunshine. I expect hot clammy heat, instead there is an icy chill to the breeze, that makes it feel sooo cold. Even on the island the other day, it was too cold for a bikini (although I still wore one accessorised by goosebumps) and sea was numbingly cold. Still I can’t really complain, even if this is cold for a Queensland winter, the weather is glorious.

But, when deciding what to wear this morning, my number one priority was warmth. So style – you’re taking the back seat today! I have spent too many days just not feeling warm enough. So today needs must. A v-neck jumper with a thick woolen cardigan over the top, belt and my old Jigsaw skirt and Peeptoe heels.

It feels like a wet London day.  Miserable again.  Fine drizzle. Everything grey.  Heavy watery sky. Not even a slither of blue up there. Two days of crap weather in a row is just too much. Come on Spring - hurry up and get here!

I wanted to wear boots today, and tights to keep my legs warm. So Tony Bianco heeled boots it is again, with my vintage lace ruffle dress with satin Marks & Sparks slip underneath. This dress is way too see-through to just wear a bra (for work anyway).

These boot are too tall for me really, or I'm too short for them.  I much prefer knee-high boots to finish a little lower.  I don't like the way they gape and look like wellies... but I was so excited to finally find a pair of stiletto heel boots, I figured I'd just have to live with them the way they are.  So I do...

I am seriously thinking of moving somewhere else so that I never have to feel cold, or wear too many clothes. I am thoroughly sick of the miserable rain and cold (yes alright it's only been raining 24 hours!) and really hate how it makes me feel. It doesn't help that we don't have heating at home, or at work, so I am permanently cold. In this weather, yes I most certainly am a whinging pom! Last night I had to walk around with a hot water bottle stuffed up my jumper. It made me look like I had a saggy pot belly - nice!

After freezing at work yesterday in my dress, I decided to rug up today (so I am slightly warmer), I am even wearing tights! So, today it's on with my old black Witchery shirt, black Jigsaw suit skirt, long Portmans cardigan, retro style fishnets and my beloved Tony Bianco stiletto heeled knee high boots. I'm still not happy though... I need my leather gloves!

I do love this dress.  If you have been paying attention, you'll know I also have it in grey.  The black one is my favourite though,  I change the belt for a different look.  I wore a red one last time. 

Today I'm just keeping it plain and simple.  With my absolutely perfect black patent stilettos.  My heart actually skips a beat when I see these heels.  They are so straight and high and pointy and super sexy.  They are totally perfect, and if I could, I would have this very shoe in every colour of the rainbow...

I love this wrap up warm, dressing gown style cardigan.  I bought it at the weekend, when the weather was so cold and it looked to good to resist, especially since there was 30% off, so I only paid $41!  Good old Taaarget!  I'm wearing my Target summer nude wedges too!  

Off to the hairdressers, so no need to dress up today, and to be honest I'm glad I've got an excuse not to go to the shops!  All the sales and mark downs are driving me crazy with 'impulse buy' madness!

I only wear this dress in winter. It's from the Target Limited Edition range, and I quite like the chunky silver edged buttons.  I add a black slip underneath for warmth and cause it feels nice and slinky.  I am a fan of wearing a satin or silk slip under a dress, not those awful spanx type suck you in ones, but a proper body skimming slippy slip.

I have chosen my ever versatile Tony Bianco nude heels, as black shoes look a little to heavy with this dress. So there you have it.

It was cold this morning, down to 8!  Brr.  Now the sun is out, the temperature has hit 20 and it's another beautiful autumn Queensland day. 

But because of the morning chill, I chose a longer black raw-silk shift dress for today, and a long black cardie.  Jazzed up with a black patent bow belt, and my gorgeous Tony Bianco bow stilettos (which I'm still slipping out of when I walk. Humph). Oh and I'm wearing my pearls of course!

All the celebs are wearing lace, so today I thought I'd join them.

This Edina Ronay black lace dress is worn over a satin slip and has a thick ribbon sash belt, under the bust. I can never decide on whether this dress is a tad frumpy or not, so I've chucked on a silver Miglio cross with my pearls to glam it up a bit.

I don't own many chunky heels, as I prefer stilettos, but I don't mind these square heeled purple shoes from Diana Ferrari.

PS.... To the fat, frumpy mother who told a friend at school yesterday that she 'looked ridiculous' for wearing a red dress and heels to collect her kids (she'd been at a tea party) - up yours you snotty cow! Some of us love to look good!

One clothing item that I simply can't live without is my simple black cotton lycra vest.

I don't care what brand it is, I just have to have a few in my wardrobe (in my 'tops' drawer to be precise). Whatever time of year it is, it is a staple that I wear a lot.

I love them because you can do anything, go anywhere, or combine with anything top. Today I'm wearing one with black linen pyjama trousers (it's a chores day). And a purple cardie, cause there is a chill in the air when the sun pops behind a cloud...

Back to work.  My lovely, lazy holiday wafting around the house is over.  So I've gone for the corporate look today.  Black crepe Cue dress. Patent heels (I love this straight stiletto, so bloody elegant), and of course my pearls.


As a side note... I still can't believe I was the last to know what 'pearl necklace' meant!  Christ, people use to come to me for explanations (of a sexual nature...)!  Let's just say I'm happy to wear either kind...

I love these lace peep-toe stilettos. I can still remember how my heart skipped a beat when I first set eyes on them. It's the bow on the front and the strip of ribbon down the back of the heel does it.

The dress, shhh! It's a cheapo off the Target clearance rail. At $14 too hard to resist.
