words that make you go ahhh...

Erotic fiction has been around for centuries.

From the sadistic perv, the Marquis De Sade in the late 1700s, Anais Nin in 1900s, to Nancy Friday in the 1990s (a collator of women's fantasies), there has always been a market for erotic stories and sex in books.

Some say, for women it's more appealing/effective than watching porn.  I guess it depends on whether you like to watch or imagine...

For many of us, as kids, our first taste of 'pleasures of the flesh' come from sneak peaks at our mother's Jean Auel or Jilly Cooper novels, not exactly erotic fiction, but a tantalising glimpse of what adults get up to...

Now there's a new book causing a stir, on the New York Bestseller List, called Fifty Shades of Grey. It's the first book in a trilogy by British writer E L James.  I haven't read it yet, but probably will just to see what all the fuss is about.

So far it has mixed reviews, mainly due to male domination themes. Some say it's an erotic love story, others just trash word porn.

I guess, like everything, it's subjective... and you can't always choose what turns you on.

I'll let you know when I've read it...
