early riser?

I really envy people who can just jump out of bed, early in the morning, firing on all cylinders, clear head and focused. Me? I'm the opposite. I wake as if rising from a coma. I set my alarm 15 minutes before I need to get up, so I can slowly rise through the fog towards the light of day and prepare myself from stepping out of my warm cocoon. Ugh. It's a daily struggle. The cool winter mornings don't help.

Once up, I need quiet calm as I go about my morning routine, or else... Let's just say it's not pretty. My functionality improves by the hour, and by mid morning I'm normally fine.

It's just me, the way I am, I have always loved my bed. I am just designed to protest if I have to rise before 8am. So a totally pointless post today - but there you go...
Hooray for hot powerful showers and coffee!!!
My lovely warm bed...

today I am wearing...

I selected my outfit today based on it's ease for taking it off. I had planned a quick trip to the shops and was really looking forward to trying on an armful of lovely temptations. But. My boy is sick, so the shopping trip is off. Ugh. I'm not happy. My sympathy levels are very low for my poor sick child. I know. I'm selfish and horrible.

rock of ages... rocking hot?

Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx, the fading 80s rock God, in Rock of Ages... shot for the June edition of W Magazine by Mario Sorrenti.  As always fabulous photography, and I have to admit, Tom looks pretty amazing for almost 50. But can I get over my dislike of Mr Cruise enough to enjoy this film?  We'll see...

Tom said during the W shoot, “I didn’t want to imitate all these other rock stars. He (Stacee) had to be unique. If the audience doesn’t immediately buy into his absolute greatness, there’s no movie journey. Without that, you have nothing.” Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever Tom...

today I am wearing...

I just can't warm up this morning. Even though the sun is out, I have a chill in my bones, so need something warm on.

Winter is not a great time for me clothes wise. I don't enjoy 'layering' and I don't like wearing jeans or trousers or hats, so when the colder weather hits, I find myself struggling with what to wear.

This morning I had to grab something quick and I went for warm comfort first. My soft jersey Sussan dress in slate blue/grey, with my long Portmans caridgan, glass beads and, sorry about this, thongs.

I'll be better dressed tomorrow I promise!

agent provocateur

Agent Provocateur
Sometimes we do miss out living in Australia, when it comes to shopping.  Yes, I know, I know, you can buy online, but call me old fashioned - I still like to go to an actual shop.  I want to browse and try things on and feel excited walking out of a store with a bag of newly purchased goodies.

Agent Provocateur is one shop I'd love to browse in.  While living in London, I use to love just going in and touching all the gorgeous, frilly, lacy, delicate, sexy undergarments. It was nice to be seduced by the decadence and sophistication and possibility.  I wanted to dress up and lounge about in something wispy in heels.

For the Spring/Summer 2012 Collection the Agent Provocateur designers "fell for the soft-focus sensuality of the Seventies. We looked to the images of David Hamilton and watched hours of softly glowing scenes from erotic films, such as Emmanuelle and The Story of O for inspiration".

Cool! I love it all - especially the red one (see below)... I'd love that for my birthday! Hint, hint...

tuck it in...

If you see someone with a label hanging out, their fly open, or something in their teeth do you politely mention it (to the person concerned) or do you pretend not to have noticed?

Me? I always tell the person!  But so many people don't and it amazes me.  Are they blind or do they just ignore it because they don't want to embarrass the person (or themselves)?

Just this morning, while picking up a coffee, standing in a small queue.  A couple of people down, there was a lady with her top label hanging out. The people behind her didn't say anything!  I couldn't just stand there and ignore it, so when she walked past I told her and she gave me a genuine thanks.

People are always so grateful when you point it out, and personally I'd be really annoyed it one of my friends didn't tell me.

So - to those of you who don't - in future, do the right thing!

Opps!

today I am wearing...

It was cold this morning, down to 8!  Brr.  Now the sun is out, the temperature has hit 20 and it's another beautiful autumn Queensland day.

But because of the morning chill, I chose a longer black raw-silk shift dress for today, and a long black cardie.  Jazzed up with a black patent bow belt, and my gorgeous Tony Bianco bow stilettos (which I'm still slipping out of when I walk. Humph). Oh and I'm wearing my pearls of course!
