today I am wearing...

I love simple dresses that don't really date.  This Jane Lamerton dress is a timeless style that can be altered just by changing the belt and I do love a ruffle, so I like the neck on this one. Although ideally it could be a tad lower to show a bit of subtle cleavage (not that I have much, but still).

I felt like a spot of red today, so decided on a red belt and my red soled Siren stacked heels. I don't have many pairs (of shoes) that don't have a stiletto, cause I'm not normally a fan of the chunky heels, but I like these. Plus the platform gives me extra height which is always nice when you're a shorty like me.

boobs of the week award...

I'm not in the mood for perfection this week.  So this week's Boobs of the Week Award goes to all of us females!  Let's celebrate our beautiful form and real boobs.

Big, small, droopy, lopsided, pert, flat.  Whatever. They all win! I love being a woman.

today I am wearing...(and a shopping tale)

I was destined to go to Myer today. It was fate. Wanna know why? Extra discounts on all the already reduced racks!!! So ladies and gents - go, go, go!!! Don't miss out!

I only went to the shops for a relaxing browse, intending on a quick nip in, walk around and out - my exercise for the day (it's raining again), and to pick up seaweed sushi for lunch.

I was all set to head home. I was saving Myer till last... Well, as you know, my pulse starts racing when I can smell a bargain... and let me tell you - there are bargains galore to be had! Review and Cue has amazing deals. Honestly, I could have bought armfuls of dresses (if not for the threat of Mr S divorcing me)... $279 dresses down to $69 then another 25% off. Even Cue had a further 20% off their reduced stuff - which rarely happens! So into the changing room I went, arms piled high with dresses!

The most exciting thing of all is that I found the perfect dress for my niece's wedding (yes, yes, I know I have already bought one)! I fell in love with this dress a month or so when it first came out and there it was... one size 8 with my name on it! Destiny. For $79 with a further 25% off! So happy. I got the Cue dress too. I can't wait to wear it. Looks fab with my short black jacket.

Happy days indeed.

today I am wearing...

I feel brain dead today.  It's the weather.  It really does affect me.  I feel dull and cloudy. So, as a result, I've done stuff all today. What a waste. I've spent way too long looking at street style blog sites. Choc full of urban fashion for the 16-25 year olds mainly. All photographed properly, not a quick snap on an iPhone, taken by a eight year old in the hall (on the way out to school), or handheld in the downstairs loo, like mine!
For a laugh I set up an account on Look Book and Chictpoia. I swear I am the oldest person signed up, but what the hell!

It's bizarre this ageing thing...  You definitely are far more fashion edgy when you're young.  You take risks, go to extremes, you demand to be noticed. You truly believe that you are original.  I did.  I swore I'd never confirm to high street fashion.  How things change...

When does that stop?  To be totally honest, for me, I think it was when I moved in with an older man.  At first he loved my young, feisty, trendy/alternative look.  The short skirts and low tops and out there styles.  But then slowly he chipped away at me until I conformed to the 30 year old that he really wanted me to be.  Did he suddenly realise he looked ridiculous with an 18 year old on his arm? I didn't even really notice at the time, and by the time I did I'd lost my look and moved on.

Now, I dress for me.  I don't follow trends really, I just wear what I feel like when I get up in the morning, in what I like.

Today - it's still pissing down, so jeans again. Ugh.

today I am wearing...

It feels like a wet London day.  Miserable again.  Fine drizzle. Everything grey.  Heavy watery sky. Not even a slither of blue up there. Two days of crap weather in a row is just too much. Come on Spring - hurry up and get here!

I wanted to wear boots today, and tights to keep my legs warm. So Tony Bianco heeled boots it is again, with my vintage lace ruffle dress with satin Marks & Sparks slip underneath. This dress is way too see-through to just wear a bra (for work anyway).

These boot are too tall for me really, or I'm too short for them.  I much prefer knee-high boots to finish a little lower.  I don't like the way they gape and look like wellies... but I was so excited to finally find a pair of stiletto heel boots, I figured I'd just have to live with them the way they are.  So I do...

island life...

I was totally miles away this morning when I had my morning shower. I actually think I might of still been sleeping, but with my eyes open, just moving along on autopilot, washing and enjoying the very hot water on my skin, fantasising about living a reclusive life on my own tropical island. I was so lost in it all, visions of me wafting around in a light Pucci kaftan, that I only came to when I was out of the shower and rubbing baby oil on my freshly shaved legs... only to discover I had only done one (leg)! Yes, I definitely needed that strong, double shot skinny flat white this morning!

The whole island thing came about at the weekend when we were looking at houses in North Queensland, with the idea of moving somewhere hot and steamy, where I never have to feel cold. Then I searched for islands for sale and up came my absolute idea of paradise. Double Island off Palm Cove in far North Queensland! For sale for a cool $8,000,000. Seriously, if I had the money, I would be negotiating the sale right now.

I love the idea of living like beautiful India Hicks (who lives in the Bahamas in her plantation-style home called Hibiscus Hill), designing things, raising my children and only venturing off the island to attend some cool party... Me, jealous?  Oh yes!

today I am wearing...

I thought I'd brighten up the dull drizzly morning by wearing some bright stripes! This is my new Review dress. Not normally my style, way too busy with the stripes all over the place, but what the hell - change is good right? Besides it feels really nice and floaty on, as it's satin lined and made from a delicate crepe fabric.

I've toned everything down a bit by wearing my faithful Tony Bianco nude heels, and a black cardie, as it's chilly out there!
