deep or shallow?

So what are you?  A deep thinker or shallow, like me? 

Do you like inspirational "quotes" and amusing testimonies written to motivate, or do you roll your eyes and silently say 'what a load of wanky bollocks'?

To be totally honest, there is not much going on in my head.  I could lie and ramble on about all sorts of spiritual, enlightening concepts, but I won't, cause I can't be bothered.  I'm quite happy being shallow.  Content even.  Why worry about things before they happen, or encourage a load of hassle? 

Essentially I am incredibly lazy.  I have a short attention span, and can get totally fired up and passionate one minute, then go totally off the boil just as quick.  I have lots of great ideas and I'm sure I could have been very successful, but I'm just not that driven. 

I do envy people who are committed and motivated and have a real talent, unfortunately I've just never been that interested in anything, and I give up too easily.  Except for maybe shoes. And shopping. And maybe sex.  Oh and gossip and celebrity.  And travel, trying new things, lazing about on pristine, deserted beaches in the sun...

Right, I'm bored now, as long as I'm not missing out on anything, I'll be off... 

What personality type are you? Do you try to better yourself constantly and like a challenge?  If you do - good for you! I mean it.  It makes life and friendships fun, thank God we're not all the same!

Typical that the sun is out today, after such a grey, cold, drizzly long weekend.

It's still parky, so I've added a warm Portmans cardie to my outfit today.  I am counting down to Spring!  It's just so much easier to dress when it's warm.  I'm wearing my Portmans belted work dress with peplum.  I have this same dress in black too, cause I love this classic style. And my old faithful, very worn heels. 

God I'm like Katie Holmes and her awful tan boots which she keeps wearing, even though they are only fit for the bin! Katie - I'll throw my beloved, comfy stilettos away (and buy a new pair) if you throw your smelly boots away - how's that for a deal?!

Today I am wearing...

It's not so nippy today, so I can put on a dress - hurrah! 

Today I have opted for my Camilla & Marc for Portmans dress, with a thin black leather M&S belt. I don't normally wear this dress during the day, as the back is very low (more a night time number), so I've added my Target Hot Options jacket as a cover-up for work and my lovely Tony Bianco nude heels. Sorted. 

I like this dress as it can be dressed up or down just by changing the belt and shoes colour. I haven't worn it for ages, I must wear it more often.

A group of advertising hot shots from leading agencies in three countries have 'come' together (ahem...) to design a range of happiness gadgets, apparently aimed at "vibrator virgins".

The Smile Makers vibrators, shaped like a fireman, tennis coach, a millionaire and a Frenchman, have been designed to make vibrators less embarrassing to buy.

The Smilemakers come (again) in soft pastel colours, and are made to look more like trendy kitchen utensils than fake penises. 

They will soon be available from leading department stores (in the beauty section) and chemists in Europe, Asia and the US. For everyone else they will be sold through the Smile Makers website Comeplaywithus.com

cherry popping music...?

Can you believe I lost my virginity to the sounds of Meat Loaf? Yep it's true, memories of that significant event will always come flooding back to me when Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell album is played. Specifically the track, Two Out of Three Ain't Bad. Ahhh so romantic - pftt!

Actually 'the event' wasn't significant at all, unless you count someone turning red like a pig above you... In fact I was so unimpressed by it all that I went on a bit of a mission to discover what all the fuss was about - because that was certainly not it! But on the plus side, I was glad to get it over and done with, and so pleased it wasn't with someone whom I was going to have a relationship with. I don't buy all this saving yourself crap. Why can't girls be like boys and just have fun with it all? I certainly did, it was great fun, and I have no regrets.

So what song did you pop your cherry to, or was it just the sounds of nature...?

magazines to inspire...

There are so many truly beautiful magazines out there, and so many incredibly talented people. I could spend hours browsing through gorgeous pictures. It must be amazing to work with such brilliant, creative people, constantly surrounded by stimulating ideas and passionate voices.

Today I had a look at Vaga Magazine, a biannual, New York based fashion, art and culture title, with cool interviews and lots of beautiful photography.
