today I am wearing...

My $18 'DFO' outfit.

I'm a little old to be wearing a dress like this, but when I'm just hanging at home I don't really care. It's comfy and summery and it keeps me cool. It was one of my bargain $5 Supre dresses, I've actually worn it a lot.

Today, for popping over to a friends for coffee and gossip, I've added my new patent nude Diavolina wedges, bought at DFO a week or so ago for only $8!!!  I'm so glad I got them. I still can't believe they were $8 (down from $129)!

all that glitters...

Good things come to those who wait, or show restraint!

Yes my friends, my resisting shoes last week has indeed paid off! I found the shoes of my dreams (I have been fantasising about silver heels of late) whilst shopping yesterday. I am in LOVE!

Let me introduce you to the perfect silver glitter stiletto by Diavolina! A bargain at only $119!

Oh what heavenly beauties they are! I can't wait to wear them out. I have been wearing them around the house for most of today. But I am wasting too much time admiring them...

Feast your eyes on my new pointy beauties and drool!

today I am wearing...

Work. I'm actually quite busy. So a serious work dress for today.  I normally wear this dress with a black belt and heels, but I thought I'd go for a bit of contrast.  I tried a few options.  I wanted to go pink, but I dunno, it just didn't work somehow... So cream it is.

Right back to it... I need to see a man about a dog...

today I am wearing...

I nipped out at lunch. I needed to buy birthday cards and stamps. I also thought I'd try on a few pairs if shorts, but once again decided I looked better in the dress and heels I was already wearing. Alas I just don't have the slim thighs required for shorts. I'd love to look like Selma in this hot little outfit.  So simple, smart and sexy. Instead I look a snap of myself (?!) in the changing rooms. See, better in a dress...

today I am wearing...

Cream and floral today.  I can't believe I almost didn't buy this dress.  I put it back on the rack several times.  I'm glad I came to my senses and bought it because it has become one of my versatile favourites.

I had to go to a client meeting to go to today, then a promised shopping trip with my daughter (birthday money burning a hole in her pocket), so I needed an outfit I could dress up and down.

Oroton bag, Diavolina slingbacks, Review dress, Portmans belt, for work, then quickly changed to a tan belt and Target wedges for the shops. Sorted!

today I am wearing...

I bought this Portmans dress the other day (on the sale rail!).  I love the bright tangerine/coral (?) colour. It came with a patent cream belt, but I think I'll try a different colour next time.  Mix things up a bit. But I love this style of dress (as you know), it suits my shape and is just the right length.

sparkly shoes to make you smile!

Another pair for my 'must have' list. You can buy them at David Jones, $139.95.
They are so lovely and have taken my mind off creepy things (see post below).

today I am wearing...

I must admit, I only tried on this Review dress because it was on the sale rail and in my size. I had promised myself a treat, to cheer me up a bit. I trekked round three shopping centres (!), tried on a stack of things and was starting to sulk at the thought of returning home empty handed.

So, just to make sure (that I didn't want the dress), I tried it on again. And suddenly it hit me - what would make the dress a hit - a belt! Of course! I added a belt and decided I loved it after all! A simple belt is such a fab accessory and really can make an outfit. I love that you can change the colour and overall look so easily.

Besides, this dress is quite different to all my other dresses, and it's a perfect casual everyday dress. And for $51 down from $249 - how could I not?!

new shoes!!!

I tried so hard not to buy any more shoes. Really. I did. When I went to David Jones on Saturday and saw these little beauties, I tried them on, admired them in the mirror and put them back on the shelf. "No, no", I said to myself. "I don't need them. I want them, but I don't need them." And I walked away... They only had one pair in my size...

But. I then dreamt about them. I started to obsess about them, thinking of all the dresses they would go so well with... And I felt really annoyed with myself. Mr SS said I should feel proud of myself for resisting, and not 'wasting money' (??!!) but I did not feel proud, or pleased, just quietly mad.

Then this morning, whilst walking through a different DJs, trying to avert my eyes from the shoe section and staring straight ahead (towards the toys), what should I see? The shoes!!! It was a sign. I had to get them! So I did, I have, and I'm over joyed!

I love them! Yay, happy, happy me! And they were marked down to $45 (from $149)! How could I resist?! It was meant to be.
