NY fashion week

New York is the place to be at the moment. Fashion Week! My invites must have got lost in the post, so I'm having to make do with online browsing...  As always there are hits and misses in the style department.  Wonderful wearable outfits and hideous eyesores.

Zac Posen and Victoria Beckham are the best of the bunch so far.

Here are some of my favourites...

today I am wearing...

I'm sporting the governess look today.  Would you like to look after your children?  Pfft!  No thanks. I don't do other peoples kids.  Just being honest.

I don't wear this Sussan dress very often as it's a tad matronly.  It would look better if I look the hem up a bit, to the knee.  As it is, it hits my calves at their widest. But I'm too lazy to borrow a sewing machine.  I find sewing so tedious.  It must have been all the sewing I had to do when doing my fashion/design diploma all those many years ago...

I'm wearing my Zoom zebra print slingbacks to jazz the look up a tad. Happy Monday!

sacrifices...

We bought a boat. To take us to paradise and back at the weekends. So I have to make some financial sacrifices. I'm still trying to think of what they can be... I've been thinking for a week now, and I still haven't come up with anything. I'm sure something will come to me soon. The problem is I never buy anything...well apart from the odd dress or pair of heels.  But they're essential right? And, I'm so low maintenance in the 'beauty' department, so that doesn't count... What can I possibly cut back on? Ummm, I'll keep thinking...

Can I swap my shoe addiction for this?

out of office

I am currently very busy working on my tan. An essential Spring/Summer activity to top up on vitamin D and to recharge the batteries. I hate flaccid white skin. I want to be brown. Not out if a spray gun or bottle. The real thing.

Today I am wearing...

I've been busy this week. Hardly any time to post. I'm going to be busy all week.  A busy little bee, that's me...

I decided on my new Cooper Street tea dress again today.  I apologise if my outfit choice is boring you dear reader... But I like this dress, so there.  And I wanted to try it out with my gorgeous new Tony B's.

It's a bit sad how much I love these flipping shoes! I almost don't want to wear them, because I don't want to mark them. But I had a lunch date, so made myself wear them out. They certainly turn heads. It's good to know there are people out there who appreciate a pair of sexy heels. I like how they are pretty plain at the front.  Just two thin leather straps. Classy. Then, as you see the side profile, you see the high, high heel and that glint of gold metal.  Yes indeed, for now these are my favs. Dear Mr S's too.  What can I say?  He has good taste!

today I am wearing...

I got this linen-mix dress at Coles a while ago.  It was only $15.  It's really wearable, has pockets and I like that you can change the belt to whatever colour you fancy.  I've gone for a teal belt and cardie today with nude sandals.

It's a beautiful Spring day out there.  The sun is out and there is not a breath of wind.

today I am wearing...

The start of a new week.  The start of a new month.  What will September bring...?  Good things and warmer days I hope!

The sun is out but there is still a chill in the air, so I needed a jumper today, and I'm wearing a dress that I've had for about 15 years (scary!). It's from French Connection (bought in my lunch hour when I worked in Covent Garden, London) and I have this pale gold one and a black one too.  I loved the classic push up neck line and a-line style so much I bought the two.  The taffeta fabric is so nice to wear. I guess I could almost say the dress is vintage now! I'm just glad it still fits.
